About me
Born in 1945 in Trona, California, USA, I retired from GTE after 31 years and moved to Hemet. CA. Since retirement I have taken up lapidary and silversmithing.

The motto you may see is from Clan Menzies in Scotland from where my father was decended.

What I'm interested in:
  • Computers
My first computer was a SwTco 6800 with 32K of memory and ASR teletype. I had a 110 baud modem and later added a 5.25" floppy drive. I have been quoted as saying: "Anyone that needs more than 32K of memory must be doing something wrong." "What does anyone want lower case on their CRT for anyway?" How times change. I paid more for that set-up and accessories than my present pentium. Bill Gates was one of my heros at the time for coming out with 4KBASIC.
  • Lapidary
I got a used cabbing machine this year (1997) and have yet to make a cabochon I am satisfied with.
  • Jewelry
I started out with safety-pin-jewelry, but soon graduated to costume jewelry with glass and stone beads and advanced to wirewrap. Now I am doing sterling silver rings and necklace drops with a varity of stones from rubies to turquoise and opal.
